Someone somewhere (probably in America) started a really really stupid trend. Now they are all copying it. Have you noticed it? It is very very silly. (more…)

January 30, 2007 · Leave a Comment
On her radio show recently, Dr Laura Schlesinger said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to (Leviticus18:22), and cannot be condoned under any circumstance. (more…)

Hairyness
January 28, 2007 · Leave a Comment
Why do people shave? What’s that all about? What’s so wrong about having hair on a body? Women (in the UK) shave their armpits, and their legs, as well as – heaven forbid – any hair that may appear on their face. Men have to remove natural facial hair from around their mouth, chins and cheeks. (more…)

The Great Toilet Seat Debate
January 25, 2007 · Leave a Comment
Men and women are different to each other. There are a number of places that this difference causes a little friction. One is in the toilet. The difference I’m thinking about causes no end of fights, arguments and divorces. The fight boils down to whether the toilet seat should be left down or left up at the end of that toilet’s use. The Woman with the Cross
January 24, 2007 · Leave a Comment
I’ve noticed this weird old woman walking about. She’s sort of passed me a few times. She’s walking with a bit of a hobble, and dressed all in black. Clutched to her shoulder blade is a very large (maybe 30–40 cm high) black cross with quite ornate gold patterns on the edges. It’s like she’s cuddling it, both hands are holding it so tightly. Time keeps on slipping slipping slipping into….

The Passage of Time: Time and time again I hear people discussing how fast time seems to be going. They have a whole range of theories as to why this seems to be happening, from the speeding up of the general exploding outwards that is the Universe, to end of the world alien intervention. (more…)

Where do all the people go?
January 22, 2007 · Leave a Comment
The unusual thing of two little 10 year old girls from Soham disappearing at the same time rocketed the ‘missing persons’ thing into the public eye. Sadly, the end result was exactly what we feared. It was awful. Absolutely awful. (more…)

This might be a true story.
I hate socialising. I hate people. But, my girlfriend and I went out with friends the other night to an award ceremony (I didn’t win again, damn it). We were running late, so they met us at ours. Well, I wasn’t running late, I’m a man. It was all her fault, see? Ok, so maybe it’s partially my fault, as she normally spends her life naked and chained to the bed (except when she’s at the kitchen sink), so getting dressed to go out is something she’s not too used to. Your Mother’s Got a Penis
January 18, 2007 · Leave a Comment
I was first introduced to the Goldie Lookin Chain song “Your Mother’s Got A Penis” when I was listening to Zane Lowe (Radio One, of course). I think they may have done it live in the studio. I laughed out loud at what was a totally brilliant song. That was a bit embarrassing because I was on a 48 bus at the time. I immediately downloaded the track when I got home and played it to myself on many occasions, then forgot about it, as it was quite a while ago. (more…)

In the dark and distant days of the beginning of digital mobile telephony, I remember Orange had introduced a new phone that included the ability to send and receive SMS (text) messages. It also had a number of tunes you could pick instead of the standard ring tones, including the now famous Nokia Tune. (more…)

Tie means a lie so you buy
January 16, 2007 · Leave a Comment
Body language is a funny thing. Through it, you can supposedly tell all you want to know about a person. But there are some people who are a little too confused to pick up on body language. For these people, the tie was invented. (more…)
The inequality of being an English White
January 15, 2007 · Leave a Comment
We are told we are equal, and we must fight to stop discrimination and to pretend that we are not all different.
I actually find ‘difference spotting’ a difficulty until I am reminded of my own differences. Unfortunately I am reminded all too often. (more…)

Hackney racism part 2
January 14, 2007 · Leave a Comment
I have previously reported the racist policies of East London’s Hackney Council, manifesting themselves through the Hackney Empire. It was the case that a mixed bunch of, for example, black and white people all working together and deciding to have a night out at the Empire would have been charged different prices regardless of the fact that their ability to actually pay was the same. The white folks would be charged £12.50, whilst anybody appearing to be black would only pay £2.00. (more…)

Hackney racism
January 13, 2007 · Leave a Comment
As an English White man living in England, I am used to being a second class citizen without any privileges. So, it was no real surprise to learn that the famous Hackney Empire, lovingly restored and still surviving after many years of uncertainty, originally from the golden days of music hall, has a racist policy, sponsored by Hackney Council. Most Haunted – Most Hilarious

As people get older the buffer between them and death gets thinner. A child’s first experience of death is usually great-grandparents. This leaves layers of ‘old people’ still there as a buffer between them and their own mortality. For most, when their grandparents come to the end of their lives, they are well on course shaping their own lives and still quite busy and mentally occupied. But by the time the last layer of the buffer, their parents, are shuttling off this mortal coil an internal siren is wailing inside. There’s nobody left. They are now at the top of the tree, the next in the firing line. (more…)
